Dermal Fillers – Cheek Augmentation
Cheek Augmentation treatments help to provide contoured, healthy cheekbones which helps to support our facial tissues. As we age our cheeks begin to lose volume as our bone density reduces and the skin on our face thins.
The non-surgical cheek augmentation and reshaping involves the use of dermal filler which is injected into the cheek area to contour and reshape the cheek giving a natural lifted appearance.
What Are Hyaluronic Acid Fillers for Cheek Augmentation?
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers help to replenish lost skin volume and support your facial tissues. This provides a subtle way to replenish lost volume and hydration in your cheek area.
Juvederm Hyaluronic Acid fillers are combined with a local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area, then the fillers are injected into the skin or cannula with a very fine needle to lift your face with natural volume. The procedure leaves your skin feeling hydrated and youthful.
We also offer Hyaluronic Acid fillers to many other facial areas to contour and lift the face.
All of our clients seeking injectable treatments are given a full consultation with Dr Woodcock to ensure they fully understand the treatment, their expectations and motivation. Juvederm fillers are an invasive treatment and should always be carried out by a medical professional.
Our Doctors will deliver your treatment to achieve the optimal natural looking result.
Frequently Asked Questions
- +How Does It Work?
The dermal fillers we use contain hyaluronic acid which occurs naturally in our skin. It attracts water and acts as a cushioning agent. The injection fills lines and replaces lost volume. Over time these injections encourage collagen production. The product is derived from a bacteria which is purified so poses no risk of infection. It contains no animal or human product.
- +How Do You Administer the Treatment?
- Your skin will be medically cleansed followed by the application of a numbing cream to the areas to be treated.
The dermal fillers are then injected with a small needle or cannula into the desired areas. The dermal filler contains local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. Most people report a little discomfort during the injections but not pain.
If you are concerned about pain or you have a needle phobia, please ask Dr Woodcock for further guidance.
- +Are There Any Side Effects?
- Common side effects are slight redness, swelling and mild bruising. This usually lasts 1-4 days.
Allergic reaction may occur – Mild to severe reaction.
Fillers can have more serious side effects such as lumps, bumps and blood vessel blockage. These are rare and your doctor will discuss this with you in detail at your complimentary consultation. Always see a medical professional!
