Dermal Fillers – Tear Trough

Dermal Fillers – Tear Trough

Dark cirles and hollowing appear under the eyes as we age.  Our tear trough dermal filler treament can help to refresh the under eye by reducing hollows.

Tear Trough Fillers help to provide a natural refreshed look to under eye hollows.

What Is Tear Trough Filler?
Some patients naturally have a hollow under their eye, many complain of “looking tired”. Some patients have a genetic tendency to under eye hollowing.
The use of Hyaluronic Acid fillers can be used to support the under eye area to reduce hollowing. In many cases patients also have volume loss in their cheeks, Dr Woodcock will give you honest, expert advice about what is best for your under eye area.
Many patients do not have hollows and in fact just have pigmentation/poor skin, which we can treat nicely with chemical resurfacing or skinpen microneedling.

The dermal fillers are combined with a local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area, then the dermal fillers are injected into the skin with a very fine needle to lift the area with natural volume.  The procedure leaves your skin feeling hydrated and youthful.

All of our patients seeking injectable treatments are given a full consultation with Dr Woodcock to ensure they fully understand the treatment, their expectations and motivation.

Dr Woodcock will deliver your treatment to achieve the optimal natural looking result.

Frequently Asked Questions

+How Does It Work?

The dermal fillers we use contain hyaluronic acid which occurs naturally in our skin. It attracts water and acts as a cushioning agent. The injection fills lines and replaces lost volume. Over time these injections encourage collagen production. The product is derived from a bacteria which is purified so poses no risk of infection.  It contains no animal or human product.

+How Do You Administer the Treatment?
Your skin will be medically cleansed followed by the application of a numbing cream to the areas to be treated.

The dermal fillers are then injected with a small needle or cannula into the desired areas. The dermal filler contains local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. Most people report a little discomfort during the injections but not pain.

If you are concerned about pain or you have a needle phobia, please ask your practitioner for further guidance.

+Are There Any Side Effects?
Common side effects are slight redness, swelling and mild bruising. This usually lasts 1-4 days.

Allergic reaction may occur – Mild to severe reaction.

More serious side effects such as lumps and blood vessel blockage can occur and are extremely rare, always see a medical professional for any facial treatment. Your Doctor will discuss all risks with you in your consultation.
