Lip fillers help to replenish lost volume and improve your looks instantly and naturally. They can be used not only in the lips, but in the lip line and mouth corners. Dermal Lip Fillers give a lifted, plumped appearance and look very natural.
What Are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers use Hyaluronic Acid injectable gel such as Juvederm, to help to replenish lost volume and improve lip shape. They can be used not only in the lips, but in the lip line and mouth corners. Dermal Lip Fillers give a lifted, plumped appearance and look very natural.
Popular for softening wrinkles around the mouth and lost lip volume caused naturally by ageing and/or sun exposure. The dermal lip fillers are combined with a local anaesthetic to numb the treatment area, then the lip fillers are injected into the skin with a very fine needle to lift your lips with natural volume. The procedure leaves your lips feeling hydrated and youthful.
All of our patients seeking injectable treatments are given a full consultation with Dr Woodcock to ensure they fully understand the treatment, their expectations and motivation.
Dr Woodcock will deliver your treatment to achieve the optimal natural looking result.
Frequently Asked Questions
- +How Does It Work?
The lip fillers we use contain hyaluronic acid which occurs naturally in our skin. It attracts water and acts as a cushioning agent. The injection fills lines and replaces lost volume. Over time these injections encourage collagen production. The product is derived from a bacteria which is purified so poses no risk of infection. It contains no animal or human product.
- +How Do You Administer the Treatment?
- Your lips and the surrounding skin will be medically cleansed followed by the application of a numbing cream to the areas to be treated. This is left for 30-45 minutes to take effect.
The dermal lip fillers are then injected with a small needle into the desired areas. The dermal lip filler contains local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. Most people report a little discomfort during the injections but not pain.
If you are concerned about pain or you have a needle phobia, please ask Dr Woodcock for further guidance.
- +Are There Any Side Effects?
- Common side effects are slight redness, swelling and mild bruising. This usually lasts 1-4 days.
Allergic reaction may occur – Mild to severe reaction.
Lip Fillers can have serious side effects such as lumps, reactions and blood vessel blockage. This is extremely rare and you should always see a medical professional for any facial treatment. Dr Woodcock will discuss all risks with you during the consultation.
